Project overview
Robotics & Real-Time Analysis is a flagship initiative co-led by Dr. Narsimlu Kemsaram and Dr. Zati Hakim Azizul Hasan. Its current focus covers swarm intelligence, multi-robot cognition and real-time sensor analysis. Dr. Kemsaram works on AI-enabled autonomy, multi-robot systems, swarm robotics and aerial vehicles, using learning and perception driven methods for collaborative robots in complex environments. Dr. Azizul Hasan works on computational intelligence, optimisation, edge AI and robotics education. The initiative connects those directions: coordinating several autonomous agents is at heart a search and optimisation problem, and it depends on interpreting sensor data quickly enough for a robot to act on it. Related work in the centre on continual learning and explainable robotics gives the initiative a route from coordination towards systems people can work alongside.

Why this work matters
Robots that operate in groups make decisions locally, with partial information and a limited time budget. That turns coordination, perception and optimisation into a single problem rather than three separate ones, and it is where methods that perform well offline often fail. Research on real-time analysis is what decides whether a coordinated system can be used outside a controlled setting.
