Medical Imaging & Healthcare AI
AI-powered medical imaging, clinical risk assessment, segmentation of medical scans, and digital health innovation.
Overview
This is the centre's largest applied area. Research covers segmentation and detection in medical images, statistical modelling for clinical risk assessment, wearable and biomedical signal analysis, and the digital health platforms that carry these methods into practice. Published work includes gastric cancer segmentation in IEEE Transactions on Fuzzy Systems, dental imaging in BMC Oral Health, and radiology report generation in Cognitive Computation. The area stays close to the centre's trustworthy AI research, because clinical use raises questions about interpretability and data governance that accuracy alone does not answer.
