Overview

Research here covers text summarisation, information extraction, ontology engineering, multilingual processing and the alignment of large language models, together with vision-language models that read text in images and generate descriptions from them. The Malaysian setting gives this work a particular character: material of research and public interest is frequently multilingual and mixed across text, speech and images, so methods that assume a single clean language stream rarely transfer directly.
